Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween. The bottom picture is my friend Alexis and me walking around the neighborhoods watching everyone trick-or-treat. My mom wouldn't let me collect any candy. She said that if I did she would eat it all. I know Alexis because my dad works with his parents.

From Left to Right- Maya, Lyla, Jay, Ezra, Boris. These are some friends from my Foothills Childbirthing class. We all met at Boris' house today and had a little Halloween get together.

On Thursday night I went to my first Halloween Carnival. This was a girl that I met at the carnival, she's 9 months old and she had chocolate all over her face because she was eating cookies. We're checking each other out here- Cat Girl meets the Penguin.

A little hungry

Bits of my first real food

When I was 4 1/2 months, I tried my first rice cereal. I didn't really know what to do with it so I spit it all back out. I only tried a couple of spoonfuls and by the last spoonful I got the hang of it. It wasn't really all that great, so I haven't had any since.

Today, I tried some apples. I'm five months- as of yesterday- and since I've been begging for food my mom thought I could try some apples. This is my first sippy cup. I had a little bit of water from it today.

Wanting some real food

This is what I do whenever my mom and dad eat. I stare at them and their food while they're eating and give them this look that says, "Please, please let me have a little bite." So, they finally gave in and got me a little food of my own.

Meeting Betsy Markey

We met Betsy Markey at the rally today too. Markey is running against Marilyn Musgrave, mom says that she's been voting against Musgrave for 4 years now and hopes that Markey wins. She was pretty sad when Angie Paccione didn't win last time. The second picture is Markey going on stage to greet the crowd before Obama

At the bottom is a picture of the crowd. We were talking to a volunteer afterwards and he said that it's estimated that 35, 000 people were at the rally. Earlier in the day Obama was in Denver and the news said that there were 100,000 people in the crowd.

It was a beautiful fall day at the rally today. I thought I'd share a couple more pictures of the rally- we saw Udall today and Governor Ritter- they were saying hi to everybody on the bleachers. My mom really wanted to go take a picture with them but couldn't get off the bleachers so easily. I think Udall knew that because he looked up right at my mom and waved at her.

The top picture was Obama being interviewed right after his speech. My mom and I turned around and took a picture with him in the background. :-)

BABIES FOR OBAMA

At the last minute today we decided to go to the Obama speech at the Colorado State University. When we got to campus the line was about 2 miles long and went all the way to Prospect. It was really cold outside and my mom and dad were getting frustrated so we decided to leave. When we were walking back to where our car, we started talking to some volunteers, turned around, were swamped by the line and ended up walking right in.

After we got past the security one of the volunteers noticed my mom's hurt leg and asked if we wanted to go to assisted seating. When we got to the assisted seating area they told us that they just ran out of room- but that we could go to the VIP area on the bleachers. We ended up getting closer than we would have thought. We were about five feet away from where Barack Obama walked on the stage.

My mom and dad were surprised that I was being so good, I almost didn't cry the whole time- until I got hungry. Plus, a lot of people were talking to me and telling me how cute I was.

Avo's II

These are my friends Henry and Lyla. They were both in our Foothills Child-birthing class, but we haven't seen them for a while because it's been hard for my mom to get around.

We all went out to Avogadro's with our parents to hang out, catch up, and listen to music. My mom was really surprised that there were so many other kids there, we had a good time-- Until I had a big blow-out in my pants and had to change my shirt.

Watching Mom

Here's me and my kitty Paris- we're both waiting for Mom's attention. He went away for a while but now he's back, he doesn't really bother me but my dad's still not very happy about it.

Shopping

I'm out shopping for my new toy with my Grandpa Rick. He said he'd buy me whatever I want, in the end I chose a swing. When my Great-Grandma Martha came over she said that my Grandpa Rick was a really big boy like me and that he didn't want to walk until he was 2 years old! My mom couldn't believe it, she said we might have to go on a diet. :-)

My mom started walking this week too. She said that her ankle hurt a little bit still, but it's getting much better. She even walks around with me a little bit- but she says that she can barely handle her weight on her ankle and when you add another 20 lbs it's not so easy.

We're also in the process of choosing a Halloween costume for me, it's going to be a surprise- so stay posted. I'm also thinking that I might enter a costume contest if they have good prizes.
